Minimum KYC Flow — Non-US

This page defines the minimum KYC flow required for provider approval for non-US users.

Overview

To obtain full approval from the provider for non-US users, the following must be collected and verified:

1. Email — Required
2. Phone Number — Required
3. Identity Document — Government-issued ID
4. Liveness Check / Selfie — Biometric verification
5. Proof of Address (PoA) — Residential address verification
6. Nigeria only: BVN number (submitted in the SSN field)

Required Documents & Steps

1. Email

Email address is required for provider approval.

2. Phone Number

Phone number is required for provider approval.

3. Identity Document

A valid government-issued ID, such as:

• Passport
• National ID Card
• Residence Permit issued in an EEA country, Dubai, or Singapore

4. Liveness Check / Selfie

A biometric check to verify the user is real and present. SumSub's "liveness check" satisfies this requirement.

5. Proof of Address (PoA)

A valid document verifying the user's residential address, for example:

• Utility bill
• Bank statement

Note: Documents must not be older than 3 months.

6. Nigeria Only — BVN Number

For users in Nigeria, the BVN (Bank Verification Number) is required:

• Where to submit: The ssn field of the POST /user/kyc/applicant endpoint
• Format: Submit the BVN number in the SSN field as specified
